I ran an ad for a personal assistant for Monday to help with the supplies. We think Skylar will do great with some one on one time. She has always done best when Dylan is not around for some reason.
We had our orientation day Friday night and Dylan walked in with her notebook and pencil in hand, like she was ready to go. Mom already has us signed up for the PTA and somehow has Dylan sitting up front. I have two grocery bags of supplies to toe in tomorrow! I don’t have a free hand or arm to take pictures! Has it always been like this?
I can’t remember if I have heard that one or not. What comes to mind is that one car insurance commercial where his little girl is in the car and Dad is giving her advice and then it switches to her as a teenager ready to take the car out. (sigh) Thanks for dropping by Ms. Country Music! Have I told you I have an idea for a song in my head I need some one to write? Do you write at all?
I’m looking forward to Dylan’s guest post about her big day, what a monumental one. What a great new adventure. Take a listen to Darius Rucker’s song “It Won’t Be Like This For Long” if you haven’t heard it, I think it fits the occasion.
Oh no, shes a terrible example, once they sent her to school and she beat everything and everyone because the teacher took her drawing. Happily no more school for her.
I read in a comment below, maybe it would a good idea to take like three good photos, giving the process full attention, and then move on and enjoy the moment.
Part of the long list of supplies we have been asked to furnish for our kindergarten girl is two boxes of tissues. Now I know why! 🙂 come on along for support if you can…
Noah was like that too? We went to an open house Friday to meet the teacher and she had to carry in her notebook and pencil..all ready to go! Somehow Mom got her a seat up front and we are already signed up for the PTA! She is not going to ride a bus, I am going to take her and our nanny will pick her up. I have been getting several requests from some of her great grandmothers (great meaning ‘good’ not ‘old’ that are asking me to take lots of pictures of her first day so they can be there too. Its gonna be hard. I want to ‘be in the moment too’ and not just the paparazzi. Stay tuned! And I appreciate the, and all the advice too! Thanks Karen! When does your school start?
Dylan will be like my Noah and just wave you off as she goes on in with her little independent self say, okay, Bye Daddy! Just wait until you put her on the bus for the first time! 🙂
Haha! I think you have to wait a few more years for that… At least for when you *really* want to embarrass her. 😉
it was great! I barely embarrassed her at all!
Aww, how exciting! I wonder how today went — for you and for her! I’ll bet it was great! 🙂
Thanks Ms. Cyndi! Its gonna be a day tomorrow!
