Christmas in the tropics…
The first day of winter was yesterday and we were bundled up tight…by the air conditioner! Our air temperature topped off at almost 80 degrees here yesterday, as we stowed our jackets and gloves for shorts and flip flops again.
It felt like maybe we were heading for Christmas on Christmas Island!
Yes, all the dangling neon ice cycles, hanging from roof tops and rain gutters couldn’t make our first day of winter any cooler. And I thought are we about ready to exchange a Christmas of fires in fire places for the lucid hum of the air conditioner again?
No hot chocolate. No steam coming from mouths as we hop in the car. No cold car rides through brightly lit Christmas light shows…..instead having to op for the windows rolled down?
I mean….this is the only time of the year I get a chance to wear my snazzy green blazer for cryin’ out loud!
But my glass half empty Grinch was soon to be readjusted as a favorite Christmas carol came on…
Do you see what I see?
Tis the time for preparing our hearts for the greatest gift of all. It not about fires or warm temperatures, Christmas parties and presents, green blazers, or decorations. Its about…“A child, a child will be sleeping somewhere in the night. He will bring us goodness and light.”
So this is 3D wishing each and every reader out there a way to prepare your hearts for a ‘warm’, memorable and peaceful Christmas and Christmas week!
Merry Christmas everyone!

Hehe, thanks so much Andy! Will def be having some scotch by the fireplace this holiday season 🙂
Cheers!
Janice
Well don’t I feel embarrassed about complaining about my unseasonal weather then. I had no idea some part of the country was flooding right now. That is so sad! I trust you are doing OK? Safe and sound my friend? I will say a prayer for those affected. Try to be Optimistic! We can save a place at the dinner table for you!
Merry Christmas to you too Karen! So no sleigh rides for you and your crew up there this year? I hope you have the time to enjoy your holiday for you and with your kids. Prepare your heart! And wishes for a ‘warm’ and very merry Christmas for you and your family!
Ha! Okay it was 65 degrees here in New York yesterday but without the sun block and palm trees ….. not quite the same effect you’re getting. I’m guessing! Good for you, Andy! And you are 100% right, it’s not the parties, the black dress or the sparkling gift that we celebrate at this time, it is the feeling of caring and love that we make known to those around us. Happy Christmas to you & your gals!!
Yesterday I was watching tornado warnings and there was flood water up to the hood of cars about 2 miles from me. Tonight, it’s right at freezing. At least we had 2 more seconds of daylight. #trying2boptimistic

Merry Christmas Andy, Sabrina, Dylan and Skylar!!!
Lots of love from
WaWa in Texas!!!! I hope Santa is good to you!!!
Funny, the kids and I were JUST listening to Buffett’s Christmas Island at the beach today, a newly acquired favorite! I brought up the CW link on my phone and the littlest guy hid his face and said, “I don’t want her looking at me…” he gets shy around princesses. We are huddling around the a/c, too. Merry Christmas to you & your dear family!
Oh, and save that blazer for St. Patty’s Day…
Ohhhhhhhhhh…..well that makes so much more sense. I’ve sorta been to the Carolinas…..I’m pretty sure I peed in one of them on our way to Florida when I was 18. More than likely, I did because I have the bladder control of a newborn.
I DEFINITELY peed in Georgia at a lovely little farm market. 🙂
No we re about 12 hours south. Of there in South Carolina….just waged the car!
I thought you lived in New Jersey?
and we were worried about the chimney certificate, maybe the windows need one too.
Here is not cold, but its not too warm either, I guess its fine but not merry.
I’m loving spending December in Puerto Rico!
Haha I know right! It’s really pretty though. I’m gonna go outside in a bit and snap some pics! I’m safe thanks:) Don’t worry I won’t get bored…doing tons of laundry here. Thanks for the warm wishes!
And you left Jamaica why again? That is a shame for so many to lose power in those sort of frigid conditions. I hope you are safe! If I had a way I would send you some laundry…so you don’t get bored! 🙂 I hope you have a warm and memorable and cancer free (!!) Christmas Donna! Merry Christmas to you and your family too!
Ms. Sandy, oh your home coast is much closer to the North Pole, where I am much closer to the equator. We had some rain lat week but not much. How many times do I have to tell you to get your butt down here? But apparently you can’t today. I don’t miss the ice storms at all. But you should have a White Christmas while we have some version of a Green one. Have great Christmas Sandy..prepare your heart…think warm thoughts…and have the best Christmas ever! Joyeux Noel!
MERRY CHRISTMAS TO YOU TOO JANICE! We’ve been missing you here in WP. Thanks for your warm wishes. I hope everything falls into place…and a nice glass of scotch by the fire.
I hope you are doing well too my friend and you are preparing your heart in your own festive way!
Have a warm one! Go Ravens!
and having some warm wine later? Best wishes for a warm and memorable
Christmas for and you clan too. Feliz Navidad!
Everyone in my tribe will have a merry Christmas Diana! Thank you and Joyeux Noel to you and yours. Prepare the way!
Hi Andy! I’m sooo jealous. We got hit by a major ice storm overnight. And apparently 10-15 cm of freezing rain is on its way. I plan on staying inside and doing laundry. I’m sooo thankful my building has power. About 250,000 homes are without power and it may not be restored for up to 72 hours. Happy holiday to you and your family!:)
Are you still home for Christmas or did you actually go somewhere warm? Because I thought your home coast was similar to my home coast and we’ve had nothing but snow for the last week and today we’re in the middle of an ice storm and I can’t leave my house.
MERRY CHRISTMAS, ANDY!!! Best wishes for this holiday season to you and your beautiful family. I know you guys will do it up the way it should be done hehe =P
Hope you are all doing very well 🙂
Your friend,
Janice
My kind of Christmas! 🙂 It’s actually mild and rainy here – but I’m still having hot chocolate!
Enjoy your girls and Oreo dessert, Andy!
Feliz Navidad!
about preparing our hearts indeed…Merry Christmas to you and your tribe Andy!
